Karachi City Tour with a Driver: Mazar-e-Quaid to the Sea

Book a Karachi city tour by car with one professional driver for the whole day. The car collects you from your door or the arrivals hall at Jinnah International and brings you back after the last stop. In one day you can see Mazar-e-Quaid, Empress Market and Frere Hall in the old centre, then Mohatta Palace, finishing by the sea in Clifton.

Karachi: opening days and seasons

The sea front
Plan the beach for a walk and the sunset. In recent summers, orders have kept swimmers out of the sea along parts of the coast, in 2026 on the Keamari coast from 23 May to 22 June.
Monsoon months
Most of Karachi's rain falls between July and September, so keep the date flexible then.
Frere Hall
Visitor guides give Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm, and the gardens are the easier part to visit. Entry is free.

Karachi sightseeing by car: Mazar-e-Quaid and the old centre

Most Karachi city days begin at Mazar-e-Quaid, Muhammad Ali Jinnah's mausoleum on M.A. Jinnah Road, set in a large park with gardens. The old centre is close by: Empress Market in Saddar, the Merewether Clock Tower and Frere Hall, with its ceiling paintings by Sadequain. Burns Road, near M.A. Jinnah Road and known for its restaurants and street food, makes a natural lunch stop. On these busy streets the driver sets you down at each entrance and keeps the car nearby until you call.

Clifton, Mohatta Palace and the sea front

The afternoon moves south to Clifton and Mohatta Palace, now a museum of art and heritage. From the palace it is a short drive to the beach at Sea View for a sunset walk. Dinner follows at the seafront restaurants of Do Darya.

Which car for a Karachi city tour

For two to four people, a Toyota Yaris or a Toyota Corolla GLi / XLi is comfortable. Families who want a high seat take the Toyota Prado, which seats six plus the driver. The seven-seat Changan Karvaan, with its sliding doors, suits a family bringing elders along.

Pickups across Karachi

The car can collect you from any address in the city, from Shahrah-e-Faisal and Clifton to DHA, North Nazimabad or Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Give us the address with a landmark, or drop a pin in the chat. For a very early start on the far side of the city, book a day ahead.

How your Karachi city tour is quoted

One quote covers the Karachi day: the car, the professional driver and his meals, with fuel and parking written in as separate lines. Cash, bank transfer, card and online payment are all accepted, and a company entertaining visitors can settle on a monthly invoice. If the car needs replacing during the tour, we send another.

Questions people ask

How long does a Karachi city tour by car take?

Plan on a full day. The stops are spread across a big city, and the traffic decides more than the distance does.

Can we bring a guide on the Karachi tour?

Yes. What you book is the car and a professional driver. If you would like the buildings and museums explained, arrange a guide before the day and tell us, so there is room for them in the car.

When is Mohatta Palace open?

Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, apart from some public holidays, with different hours in Ramzan. On a Monday, swap the palace for a longer stop at Frere Hall or the beach.

Can the tour start from Jinnah International Airport?

Yes. Send the flight number and the car meets you at arrivals, so the sightseeing can begin straight from the airport or the next morning. Tell us how many bags you have, because luggage changes which car fits a family or a group.

When is Mazar-e-Quaid busiest?

On the national days. Official and military ceremonies on 23 March, 14 August, 11 September and 25 December bring crowds and extra security. Pick another date unless the ceremony is what you want to see.

Which vehicle suits a school trip around Karachi?

Ask about the Coaster 4C, Yutong or Hino for a class trip, or the Grand Cabin for a smaller group. Current listings show 22 seats/AC, 47 seats/AC, 62 seats/Non-AC and 14 seats/AC respectively; confirm the passenger layouts and bags.

Can we visit the Chaukhandi tombs on the same day?

Yes, if you start early: the carved sandstone tombs are about 29 km east of the city on the N-5 National Highway near Landhi. Going there first, then the city sights, makes a long, full day. For an unhurried look, split the tombs and the city sights over two days with the same car and driver.

What if it rains heavily on the day?

Shift the tour to a dry day. You can cancel a Karachi booking without charge until 24 hours before pickup, and the new date is quoted straight away.

Can you provide cars for a visiting delegation?

Yes. For the principal guest, ask about the Mercedes C-Class or the Audi, and a Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla Altis Grande suits colleagues. A Toyota Grand Cabin or a Toyota Coaster keeps the rest of the party together.
