Abbottabad Public School is about 10 km out on the main Mansehra Road. Army Burn Hall College and COMSATS University's Abbottabad campus are in town. Ayub Medical College and Ayub Teaching Hospital are on the city's northern side. The driver drops you at the entrance and collects you when you message. The streets climb and narrow, so a small car such as the Suzuki Alto or Daihatsu Mira is easiest for errands. A family moving a student into a hostel needs a Toyota Corolla's boot or the seven seats of a Changan Karvaan.
Passing-out parade days at PMA Kakul
The Pakistan Military Academy at Kakul, about 8 km north-east of the city, holds passing-out parades twice a year, in spring and autumn. Parking is limited on parade days, so we plan the drop point and start time with you; the driver waits wherever parking is allowed. A family of six fits a Toyota Prado; a larger party can ask about the Grand Cabin or Coaster, with seating and bags confirmed. Send the parade date as soon as the cadet knows it, as many families travel for the same parade.
Shimla Hill, the Ilyasi Mosque and Harnoi
Shimla Hill, the city's viewpoint over the valley, is about 2.3 km from the centre, and the Ilyasi Mosque is at Nawan Shehr. Harnoi, a cold-water spot for summer weekends, is about 10 km out on the main road towards Nathia Gali. A Suzuki Alto or a Toyota Corolla is enough for any of them, and the driver waits nearby while you walk.
Nathia Gali, Thandiani and the Galyat from Abbottabad
Nathia Gali is about 34 km up a winding road, roughly an hour's drive. From there the ridge carries on through Dunga Gali and Ayubia to Murree, so a day can climb one side and come down the other. Thandiani, about 30 km north-east by road, is a separate outing. Outside the snow months a saloon may suit, depending on the route.
Rent a car from Abbottabad to Mansehra, Balakot and Naran
Naran is about 145 to 150 km through Mansehra and Balakot, usually three and a half to five hours. Past Balakot the road climbs and the pace drops; allow longer in the summer rush or after rain. Naran and Babusar trips depend on the season and road conditions for your dates. We usually suggest a Toyota Prado or Land Cruiser. Whether a saloon, Grand Cabin or Coaster suits depends on your dates and the passes on your list. Further north, the road continues past Mansehra to Thakot and the Karakoram Highway for Besham, Gilgit and Hunza.
Muzaffarabad, Islamabad and Peshawar by road
Muzaffarabad is about 80 km through Mansehra and Garhi Habibullah, for a day trip or the start of a Neelum Valley holiday. Islamabad and Rawalpindi are roughly 105 to 135 km south, an hour and a half to two hours, mostly on the Hazara Motorway. Islamabad International Airport is about 120 to 125 km away, and we allow a generous margin for flights. Peshawar is about 190 to 200 km by the Hazara Motorway and the M-1, a little under three hours. For the motorway runs, a Toyota Corolla Altis Grande or Honda Civic gives more legroom. Book one way or keep the car for the return.

Is a driver included with every car in Abbottabad?
Yes. A professional driver comes with every booking and drives, parks and waits for the hours you book. If the trip includes a night in the Galyat or up the Kaghan valley, his meals and room are covered by the trip quote.
What does a car and driver cost per day in Abbottabad?
From PKR 5,000 a day for a Suzuki Alto, covering 10 hours in and around the city. Fuel and overtime are extra, and Naran, the Galyat and other cities are quoted per trip. We take cash, bank transfers, cards and online payments.
