Rent a Car from Lahore to Multan with a Driver
Rent a car with a professional driver from Lahore to Multan, or from Multan back to Lahore. The 343 km run on the M-3 and M-4 motorways usually takes around four and a half hours. Book it one way, as a return, or keep the car and driver in Multan for as many days as the visit needs. Message us on WhatsApp at any hour.
The M-3 and M-4 route, and breaks on the way
The driver leaves Lahore on the M-2 and turns onto the M-3 just past the Ravi toll plaza. The M-3 runs 230 km south-west to Abdul Hakeem, with exits for Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Jaranwala, Samundri, Kamalia and Pir Mahal. There it joins the M-4, which passes Kabirwala and Khanewal to the Multan interchanges at Shah Rukn-e-Alam and Shah Shams Tabrez. The M-3 has service areas near Nankana Sahib, Samundri and Tandlianwala, and many travellers break near Abdul Hakeem or Khanewal for fuel and tea. Ask for extra stops if small children or elderly parents are travelling.
The N-5 through Sahiwal, for Harappa
The N-5 National Highway runs through Pattoki, Renala Khurd, Okara, Sahiwal, Mian Channu and Khanewal. Going through the towns makes it nearer five to six hours. It is the road for Harappa: the Indus Valley site and its museum lie about 24 km west of Sahiwal, with their own junction. Ask for the N-5 when you book and say how long you want at the ruins.
A return, or a few days in Multan
A return can be done in one long day, but around nine hours of driving only suits a short meeting at the far end. Most people heading back to Lahore stay at least one night. Keep the car in Multan and the driver stays with it for family visits, site meetings or the shrines of Bahauddin Zakariya and Shah Rukn-e-Alam. He then drives you home on the day you choose.
Which car for how many travellers
One to three people with normal luggage are comfortable in a Toyota Corolla GLi / XLi. Executives, and families who want more room in the back, usually choose a Toyota Corolla Altis Grande or a Honda Civic. A VIP guest can ask the office for a suitable tour-fleet car; the current Mercedes and Audi listings are for within-city use. Wedding parties and staff groups travel in a Toyota Coaster 4C with its layout confirmed or a Yutong or Hino bus with seating and AC confirmed.
The drive back from Multan to Lahore
The driver collects you from a home, a hotel or Multan International Airport and drops you anywhere in Lahore. If you are flying out of Allama Iqbal International Airport, give the flight number and the drop is timed to leave room for check-in.
