Rent a Car from Lahore to Islamabad with a Driver

Rent a car with a professional driver from Lahore to Islamabad or Rawalpindi, or the other way round, door to door. The drive takes four to five hours on the 375 km M-2 motorway. Choose a one-way drop, a same-day return, or a few days in the capital with the car and driver staying on. Book on WhatsApp, day or night.

Lahore to Islamabad on the M-2 motorway

From DHA or the airport side of Lahore, the driver joins the M-2 at Babu Sabu by the Ring Road. At the Islamabad end, the Srinagar Highway runs past G-13 and G-11 to Zero Point and Blue Area. The service areas along the way, from Sukheki to Chakri, have fuel, food and repair facilities on both carriageways.

The GT Road through Gujranwala, Gujrat and Jhelum

The older N-5 Grand Trunk Road runs through Muridke, Kamoke, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Gujrat, Kharian, Jhelum, Dina and Gujar Khan to Rawalpindi. Take it for business or family in one of those towns, or for an hour at Rohtas Fort, about 16 km north-west of Jhelum.

Islamabad to Lahore: the same trip in reverse

Going south, the driver collects you from any sector of Islamabad, from Rawalpindi or from Bahria Town. In Lahore he takes you to the door, whether a home in DHA, Model Town or Johar Town, a Gulberg office, a wedding marquee or Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Same-day return, or a stay in Islamabad

A same-day return suits one appointment, such as an embassy visit, a court date or a single meeting. It means eight to ten hours of driving, so start early and keep the time in Islamabad short. On a stay of a night or more, the car and driver remain with you for meetings, family visits, Faisal Mosque and Daman-e-Koh, or a run to Murree.

Which car for the M-2

One to four passengers travel comfortably in a Toyota Corolla GLi / XLi. For a working trip, a Toyota Corolla Altis Grande or a Honda Civic is quieter. For a director or VIP guest, ask the office for a suitable tour-fleet car; the current Mercedes and Audi listings are for within-city use. A baraat or a staff outing fits in a Toyota Coaster 4C, with a current 22-seat listing.

Questions people ask

How far is Islamabad from Lahore, and how long is the drive?

The M-2 runs 375 km from Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore to its junction with the M-1 outside Islamabad. Door to door, the drive usually takes four to five hours, depending on your addresses and stops. The GT Road is about 270 km to Rawalpindi but takes five to six hours or more, because it runs through every town.

Can I book a one-way car from Lahore to Islamabad?

Yes. The driver collects you in Lahore, leaves you at your door in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, and the booking ends there. A one-way trip from Islamabad to Lahore works the same way.

Can you pick me up at Islamabad airport and drive me to Lahore?

Yes. Islamabad International Airport connects directly to the motorway, so the car goes from arrivals onto the M-2 without entering the city. Send the flight number, landing time, number of bags and your Lahore address.

Are fuel and motorway tolls included?

Motorway tolls are extra. The quote for each trip covers the car and the driver, and sets out the fuel arrangement and parking.

Which car is best for a family of six going from Lahore to Islamabad?

A Toyota Prado seats six passengers plus the driver, with room for a family's suitcases. A Toyota Land Cruiser takes seven, and a larger family or two households travelling together fit in a Toyota Grand Cabin, with its passenger layout confirmed.

Can we stop at Kallar Kahar or the Khewra Salt Mine on the way?

Yes. Kallar Kahar has a motorway service area, with the lake and the Takht-e-Babri close by, so a short stop costs little time. Khewra is about 30 km off the Lilla interchange and fills most of a day. It suits a trip with a night on the way, or a separate outing.

Can we travel at night or very early in the morning?

Yes. From December into January, though, thick fog can close parts of the M-2. Motorway police say travel is generally safe between 10 am and 6 pm, so plan a daytime start in those weeks. If the motorway is closed on your day, you choose the GT Road or a later start.

Is the driver's food and stay included if we spend a night in Islamabad?

Yes. On nights away, the driver's meals and overnight stay are part of the quote, so there is nothing to arrange or pay for him. Tell us how many nights the car will stay and roughly how much driving you plan in Islamabad.

What happens if the car breaks down on the motorway?

We send another car so the trip can carry on, and the driver keeps you informed while it is on the way.

Can I cancel a Lahore to Islamabad booking, and how do I pay?

Yes, at no charge if you tell us 24 hours or more before the car is due. You can also move the trip to another date. Pay in cash, by bank transfer, card or online; companies can ask for a monthly invoice.
