Rent a Car from Karachi to Sukkur with a Driver

Rent a car from Karachi to Sukkur with a professional driver, about 470 km in either direction. The road is the M-9 to Hyderabad, then the N-5 north through Hala, Moro and Khairpur to Sukkur and Rohri. It is about six and a half hours of driving, so the trip fits into one day with a lunch stop. Choose a one-way drop, a return with the car staying through your days in upper Sindh, or the first leg of a longer trip up the M-5. Book on WhatsApp, 24 hours a day.

The road from Karachi to Sukkur: the M-9, then the N-5

The first 136 km is the M-9 motorway, from the northern edge of Karachi to Kotri, opposite Hyderabad. The N-5 National Highway then takes over, running north up the east bank of the Indus. Counting from Karachi, Matiari comes at about km 190, Sakrand 250, Moro 320, Naushahro Feroze 345, Kandiaro 373, Ranipur 413, Khairpur 458 and Sukkur 470. Fuel pumps come roughly every 50 km.

Places to break the journey on the N-5

Bhit Shah, just off the road between Hyderabad and Hala, holds the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. During its three-day Urs from the 13th of Safar the town is packed, so plan around those dates if you are only passing through. Hala has the shrine of Makhdoom Nuh and is known for kashi pottery. Further north is Kot Diji Fort, in Khairpur district. Tell us your stops when you book.

Staying in Sukkur, or going on to Multan

Karachi to Sukkur and back in one day is thirteen hours or more of driving, so for a return we suggest at least one night in Sukkur. While you are there, the car and driver can stay with you for local trips around Sukkur and Rohri. Local stops include the Sukkur Barrage, the island shrine of Sadh Belo and the minaret at the shrine of Mir Masum Shah. The M-5 motorway carries on north to Multan. The booking can then become a two-day run, with the night in Sukkur and the same driver throughout.

The west bank and Mohenjo-daro

The Indus Highway, the N-55, runs up the west bank from Kotri through Dadu and Larkana to Shikarpur, close to Sukkur. Mohenjo-daro, the Indus Valley ruins, is about 28 km from Larkana. You can go up the N-5 and come back this way with a stop at the ruins, or make Mohenjo-daro a day out from Sukkur.

Which car for 470 km

For up to four people over six hours, a Toyota Corolla Altis Grande rides quietly at highway speed. A Toyota Corolla GLi / XLi does the same job for less. A family of six fits a Toyota Prado, which also suits the village link roads off the N-5. A wedding party or family gathering takes a Toyota Grand Cabin, with the passenger layout confirmed.

Price and booking terms

The Sukkur run is quoted per trip, not by the day, and covers the car and the driver. Fuel is charged per kilometre at the quoted rate, or you fill the tank yourself at the end of each day. Motorway tolls are extra. We take cash, bank transfers, cards and online payments, and businesses can be invoiced monthly. Cancelling costs nothing if you tell us 24 hours or more before pickup, and a breakdown on the N-5 means a replacement car is arranged.

Questions people ask

How long does the drive from Karachi to Sukkur take?

How far is Sukkur from Karachi by road?

About 470 km, a little more or less depending on where in each city you start and finish. Taking the M-9 for the first part, instead of the N-5, is quicker but barely changes the distance.

Is there a motorway all the way from Karachi to Sukkur?

The M-9 motorway covers Karachi to Hyderabad, and the N-5 National Highway takes you on to Sukkur. Work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, the M-6, is due to start in November 2026.

Can I book a one-way trip from Sukkur to Karachi?

Yes. We collect from a home or hotel in Sukkur, from Rohri across the river, or from Khairpur, and drop you at any address in Karachi. For a flight from Jinnah International, give us the departure time and we set the start time from it.

If I keep the car in Sukkur for a few days, where does the driver stay?

With the car, for the days you book. His room and meals are included in the trip price, so there is nothing to arrange or pay for him on the spot.

Should I fly to Sukkur or go by road?

For one or two people with light bags and nothing to do on the way, flying is quicker, since Sukkur has direct flights to Karachi. The road suits a family or group sharing one vehicle, heavy luggage, stops at Bhit Shah or Hala, or a car with you in Sukkur afterwards.

Can you pick me up at Karachi airport and drive straight to Sukkur?

Yes. Send your flight number and the driver meets you at Jinnah International arrivals, then heads out on the M-9. If you land late at night, consider a night's rest in Karachi and an early start, since the drive is about six and a half hours.
