Sectors, chowrangis and how drivers find you
Drivers go by the chowrangis and turnings: Nagan Chowrangi, Power House Chowrangi, Anda Mor, Disco Mor and the Saba Cinema roundabout. Give your sector and sub-sector, such as 11-A or 7-D, with the nearest of these, or send a location pin. Shahrah-e-Usman and Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan are the main roads and busiest commercial strips.
Nagan Chowrangi and Buffer Zone
Nagan Chowrangi, near Choudhry Fazal Elahi Road, is where Buffer Zone, North Karachi and North Nazimabad meet. For official paperwork, the Deputy Commissioner's office for Karachi Central is in Buffer Zone's Sector 15-A. From the chowrangi, Shahrah-e-Shah Wali Ullah leads into Rashid Minhas Road. That runs south past Sohrab Goth and Gulshan Chowrangi to Drigh Road on Shahrah-e-Faisal, the usual line to the airport and the offices along it.
North Karachi Industrial Area: staff transport and visiting buyers
The industrial area's streets are narrow, so a large coach is not always the right choice. Staff pick-and-drop suits a Toyota Grand Cabin, or a Changan Karvaan for a smaller shift. For a visiting buyer, a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic meets the flight at Jinnah International and drives them between the hotel and the factory. Send the buyer's name, flight number and hotel; the same car and driver can stay for the whole visit.
Families, errands and weddings
For a wedding, guests travel together in a Toyota Grand Cabin or a Toyota Coaster, and a Corolla or a Civic carries the immediate family. Each car is timed to the mehndi, the baraat and the walima. The road out: Sohrab Goth and the M-9
North Karachi is on the same side of the city as the road to Hyderabad. The driver heads from Power House and Nagan Chowrangi past Shafiq Mor to Sohrab Goth and joins the M-9 there. It runs 136 km to Kotri, on the edge of Hyderabad, Sindh. Out-of-city trips, including longer drives up the N-5 towards Sukkur, are quoted per trip. Motorway tolls are extra, and on anything longer than a day the driver's overnight stay is included.
